There is a magic to a New York City evening. As the sun’s light dissipates and is replaced by darkness, we illuminate only that which we deem significant.
As someone who has had the opportunity to see the wonder of the nocturnal city, I have embarked on this project with intention of capturing its beauty and sharing it with those who might not have had the good fortune to have appreciated it. These images strive to combine the aesthetics of the world we have created with the light that we, too, have created: entirely artificial, but unassailably real. Because color fades along with the light, I have captured these images on black and white film and rendered them as silver gelatin prints. The reality of the images is complemented by the reality of the photographs as objects. They have weight, they have physical size, they have existence-just as the world they capture.

I invite you to look at these images, and, more importantly, the actual photographs they portray. With them comes a ticket to see the wonders of the world that is New York at night.
